Buffalo Upsets Duluth East

Buffalo Upsets State Ranked Duluth East on National Television

2.13.2007 - The Buffalo Bison boys hockey team made the most of their national TV appearance on Fox Sports North’s Tuesday night live broadcast from the Buffalo Civic Center.  The Bison defeated the visiting #8 ranked Duluth East Greyhounds 3-1 behind physical play and superb goaltending by Jon Zitur.  The BHS fans packed the Buffalo, MN Civic Center and created an electric atmosphere all night long and the home team didn’t disappoint.  Zitur was hot in the net all night long allowing only one goal while turning away 40 shots in the game.

Josh Gaughan got Buffalo on the board with a goal in the 1st period and Zach Blaisdell scored on a power play early in the 2nd period to give the Bison a 2-0 advantage.  Duluth East closed the gap to 2 -1 with a goal midway through the 2nd period but never got any closer. Buffalo put the game away in the 3rd period on a goal by Ross Trousdale, his 19th of the season to cap the scoring.

FSN has broadcasted over 15 high school hockey games so far this season.  Buffalo ends their regular season visiting Rogers/Zimmerman later this week and then moves on to post season play.
